NAACP Flint Humanitarian Award

I am honored to receive the NAACP Flint Celia M Turner Humanitarian Award at the 43rd Annual Freedom Fund Dinner.

As a family physician, I believe everything is health, from the care we provide in the clinic to the social and environmental conditions shaping our lives.

I know that health is so much more than what happens in a doctor’s office. Health is in our homes, our schools, our work, our environment. It’s in every breath we take and every choice we’re able to make.

This recognition fuels my commitment to keep serving with compassion, educating our community, and fighting for health justice and equity here in Flint. I strive to be a good resource and advocate for the community. Flint inspires me daily to keep pushing, keep serving, and keep advocating.

I love being in Flint and being able to not only help my patients at Harris Family Health but also be able to help the Flint community. I will continue to work to build a healthier, stronger, and more equitable Flint for generations to come.
