Excited to Support Future Medical Doctors from Flint with $500!
This year Harris Family Health started the Flint MCAT Scholarship! Gifting not 1, not 2, not 3, BUT 4 $500 MCAT Scholarships to pre-med students from the Flint area.

This was such an amazing opportunity to support students striving to pursue a career in medicine. Hard working students dreaming beyond their circumstances to achieve their goal of becoming medical doctors.
Their stories inspired me and reminded me of why I went into medicine. Each one with unique motivations and great experiences already. These students already have an idea of what they want to be. They are thinking of Family Medicine , Trauma Surgery, OBGyn, and Psychiatry.

This scholarship started out as a simple act of kindness and support. My medical education journey was a challenge and I only wished someone would have offered a scholarship to boost moral and access.
The plan was to gift one single MCAT scholarship on an annual basis to support the Flint community from Harris Family Health because I remember in 2011 when I was broke paying for a wild medical dream and taking the MCAT.
BUT something amazing happened along the way. I announced the wish to give this scholarship and the joy of giving the first scholarship. And others stepped up to sponsor additional scholarships to my surprise!! It was so great to offer more students a MCAT scholarship.
So please send positive vibes and support to this students as they take their MCAT exam, some as early as May 2025. These are our future medical doctors and I am excited to follow their journey and support their dream.
Crazier things have happened but my favorite crazy things are ideas fueled from genuine desire to help people and the community backing them because the world is truly made of good people.
